Erik's first day

Today was Erik's first day at the Russell Ridge Center. He is taking 3 classes: hands on science, beginning computers, and medieval history. He was really excited to go, especially to pack his lunch this morning. Today was science and computers. His science class went really well. He enjoyed it and liked his teacher. Computers was a little more chaotic. There are 13 boys in the class and the noise and chaos overwhelmed him a bit. But he stuck it out and did his best. I'm really proud of Erik and the changes he's made this year. He has matured a great deal. He has learned to read and really loves it. He also is more willing to do things. Our lessons at home are going smoother and he interested in doing more. He also is taking more responsibility at home and more for himself. He's definitely a different boy this year.

Kyle and I are always talking about how different He has changed so much. It really is amazing. I'm excited for your upcoming year, it seems like it is going to be so much more chill for you.

I love his choice of classes! Probably the same ones I would choose. How is it having all that time to yourself?

Russell Ridge is a parent-partnered school, which means I have to be there with Erik. So it's not so much time to myself. But it's a great experience for him.

We did something like that with Connor towards the end of last school year. It was a lot of fun for Connor, but the whole family (baby and all) had to hang around during the school day. If my kids were a little older it would have been perfect!

How is Taryn adjusting?
