THAT is SO AWESOME! Vic is so great to get out there and play with the kids. I was just thinking yesterday how much fun it would be to build a snowman, but then I talked myself out of it because I didn't want to get cold :) But good for vic, the kids looked like they had a blast with that. :)
I've been out of the blogworld for awhile because I was gone for a week and then got sick. But you guys got a ton of snow! That Igloo is really cool. Props to Vic. I'm confused on the Solstice thing, you said you read about how it came to be? Is this a common holiday?
The book we read talks about how people used to be afraid that the sun would never come back, and then how they learned to mark time and tell when the sun was at it's lowest point, and it would be the shortest day. Then how the romans celebrated by decorating trees and making green wreaths to remind them that the sun would return.
Vic is so the coolest dad on the block! I hope Kyle's as cool as him. Of course, we live in an apartment complex with no room to play, so we'll have to see about that...
I'm amazed at how great the chunks that make up the igloo look. They're like iced over snow...like a true igloo. I tried to make one, once, and it was just so pathetic I had to lie about what I'd tried to do.
So, you guys open presents on Sunday, instead? Was that the shortest day of the year?

Wow.
That igloo could fend off Mongol hordes.
Also, the archway with the freestanding keystone is pretty rad.
Makes me want to grab a plastic tub and start crafting architectural wonders too.
