We borrowed some yucky tasting nail polish from a friend to help the kids stop sucking their thumbs. Erik was so proud of himself for sleeping through the night without his thumb, that he went around all the next day singing this song. Then the nail polish wore off, and the thumb went right back in his mouth. He says it was just a song and didn't mean anything.

Oh my goodness, that is adorable. It takes me right back to my childhood, with my sister, Lora. She was a closet thumb-sucker. She wasn't nearly as vocal about her triumphs, but my parents tried the nail polish, too, and many other things. She'd get to the point where she'd "go to the bathroom" before bed, thusly, having to wash her hands very carefully with soap and water. Thumb-suckers are sneaky. :)
it was a good try with the nail polish! you should make him stick his thumb in his ear, earwax tastes gross. :0)
That is possibly the funniest thing I have seen all week! I really like the part where he does the voice roll! A true Rock Star! I have no advice for the thumb sucking, never did it...maybe you could try showing them pictures of people with really scary crooked teeth? that always scared me out of sucking my thumb?:)
That is so cute! Kids are hilarious! I love how he said the song didn't mean anything. That really made me laugh. I agree with the earwax comment. That's got to be the nastiest taste. Not that I eat my earwax or anything. You know, sometimes you rub your ear and then forget and put your finger in your mouth. You know you've all done it! :)
